Position Summary

DroneUp is seeking a Content Manager, reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications. As a member of the DroneUp marketing team, you love telling stories, working smart, and having fun! Your goal is to write and edit impactful copy for various projects, including but not limited to print, web, podcast, video, social media, and slide decks. You are a driven, multi-tasker ready to develop a continuous pipeline of compelling content. While you are a self-starter who can work independently, you also have a knack for working with cross-collaborative teams to brainstorm ideas, create concepts, and develop messaging. You will be eager to conduct research, interviews, and meetings to understand clients, products and services, branding, and marketing goals. In addition to excellent copywriting and communication skills, you will be responsible for productive relationships with executives, as well as freelance contractors. In addition, you love organization. You will have excellent skills for organizing and managing all content assets - calendars, written works, images, podcasts, videos, and various deliverables. You love making the complex simple with a passion for creative, user-centered outcomes. You’ll be comfortable with strategy, be confident in defending your ideas, you’ll like to ask questions, offer up solutions, and have a roll-up your sleeves, can-do attitude.

Essential Functions

  • Write and produce original written materials in a variety of formats with excellent copywriting skills for B2B and B2C audiences
  • Participate in all stages of the creative process, from brainstorming to conceptual development, thereby contributing to marketing strategies
  • Create and manage multiple content calendars
  • Continually raise the bar on creativity, writing fresh copy that connects with the desired audience and drives action
  • Comfortable varying voice, style, and other characteristics demanded by varying target audiences
  • Interpret creative briefs to develop and produce innovative concepts
  • Ensure written materials are clear, concise, and persuasive to help bring the strategy to life
  • Proofread written work and online content
  • Present copy concepts and final deliverables to various teams
  • Revise copy based on feedback/direction
  • Stay updated on appropriate style guidelines and brand voice for consistency in messaging
  • Initiate research and understand the concept behind creative work and how it achieves client and business goals
  • Stay on top of trends through industry monitoring and outside resources
  • Work efficiently and effectively with various teams across the organization on projects with competing timelines
  • Thrive in a technical, fast-paced environment
  • Manage time and establish priorities
  • Maintain flexibility to respond to changing demands
  • Maintain all content assets in GSuite and other electronic platforms

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Minimum three years experience in copywriting and content management
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with demonstrated experience in conceptual writing for advertising, web, product, brand messaging, and promotional copy
  • Experience in an environment working with marketing, advertising or PR campaigns, print and social media preferred
  • Strong presentation and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and with a fast-paced team
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Ability to own projects and take initiative
  • Experience with Google Suite and Microsoft 365
  • Experience with WordPress & Drupal
  • Understanding of Search Engine Optimization
  • Understanding of Customer Management Systems & Content Management Systems
  • Ability to provide a portfolio showcasing multiple concept-to-launch initiatives, published materials, and content calendar management
  • At ease of learning new technologies
  • Enterprise retail marketing or agency experience is a vital asset
  • UAS, aviation, or technology experience is not required, but a plus
