Airwise Solutions announced this week the launch of Airwise Nexus, an airspace-awareness and sensor-fusion capability within its airwiseOS Operational Intelligence platform.

Nexus ingests and correlates data from third-party sensors and operational systems, including radar, radiofrequency detection, Remote ID, ADS-B, video, OEM drone telemetry and other cooperative and non-cooperative traffic feeds, according to the company’s release. They say the fused data is presented through a single common operating picture for enterprise drone operations, counter-UAS awareness and airspace management.

Airwise says Nexus is designed to address a “persistent” challenge for public-safety agencies and critical-infrastructure operators, whose airspace sensors and operational systems often run on separate consoles, requiring operators to reconcile multiple screens before acting. The platform combines those feeds into one live picture, correlating detections with an enterprise's own drone, personnel, and vehicle telemetry.

The launch centers on an open partner model. Sensor and data-feed providers can integrate with Nexus for free on a non-exclusive basis, and the company says that a single integration makes a partner's data available to every Airwise customer whose use case permits it. Partners retain ownership of their data. Airwise, which builds software rather than hardware, said its role is to provide the common operating picture and real-time operational intelligence layered on top of partner data.

Airwise is bringing Nexus to market first in public safety, including drone-as-first-responder and counter-UAS programs, and in energy and utilities, where operators inspect and protect large infrastructure footprints, the company said. Public-safety drone integrator Unmanned Vehicle Technologies (UVT) is among the collaborators supporting the launch.
