This week, FlyGuys announced a move into the software technology space with the launch of FlyGuys Capture. The new offering is a proprietary platform for reality capture data that the company explains is not really new, as it has been powering its operations for years before now being launched as its own technology brand. 

In its release of the news, the reality data capture company notes that the platform has supported thousands of FlyGuys projects to date by “streamlining project planning, pilot coordination, quality assurance, and data delivery.”

With this shift into offering its own proprietary software platform, the company calls this its “next chapter,” pointing to evolving needs from customers for scalable, technology-enabled reality data solutions. FlyGuys calls its evolution one from a reality data capture company to a technology-driven platform that combines its existing field operations with intelligent software. It’s worth noting that the company specifies that it will still have its in-house team supporting every project.

In a statement, its CEO, Joe Stough, emphasized that this is not a brand new platform, but rather one that is being made public for the first time.

“FlyGuys Capture isn’t something we built overnight,” said Stough. “It’s the result of years of investing in technology that makes reality data collection easier, faster, and more connected. Our customers have already been benefiting from it. We’re simply pulling back the curtain and introducing the platform that has been powering FlyGuys all along.”

The company says that FlyGuys Capture is designed to be nimble, adjusting to individual customers’ businesses and integrating into workflows that are already in place through configurable processes, APIs, and custom plug-ins. The goal of the platform is to connect with the systems that are already in place within its customers’ organizations rather than a wholesale change in how operations are taking place.

FlyGuys Capture is expected to evolve with new features, integrations, and workflow enhancements over time.
