Commercial UAV Expo 2016 - The Future of Automated Drones with Ran Krauss from Airobotics

Ran Krauss, CEO of Airobotics, spoke during the Automated Missions: Taking Humans Out of the Equation session at the 2016 Commercial UAV Expo to explain how automated drones can and will have a major impact in the commercial space. Among various other items, he discussed how facilities will be able to use drones to automatically perform tasks like inspections and surveillance which will revolutionize various industries. It's something that he's also detailed in an article on Commercial UAV News, entitled, "Where Automation and the Digital Mining Environment Meet: Automated Drones".

I caught up with Ran at the Expo to get a better sense of the ways in which this technology is set to enable that kind of change. We discussed the logistics of the Airobotics solution, how regulation is impacting the way they’re moving forward, what it means to remove an operator from the equation of flying a drone and plenty more.
