New York-based drone agriculture firm Stark Flight has released a new report detailing growth in the agricultural drone sector. “The Agricultural Drone Industry Insight Report (2023/2024)” includes data on drone-related policy, new use cases, and statistics on drone use in the agricultural industry.
In a statement, Stark Flight's Head of Global Sales said, "This report highlights that governments and farmers around the world are adopting agricultural drones and smart farming technologies to increase food production in a more scientific, sustainable and environmentally friendly way."
The report stated that “there are more than 300,000 drones in operation worldwide, handling more than 500 million hectares of farmland around the world.” Moreover, Stark Flight reported that “Efficiencies enabled by drone has resulted in a “cumulative reduction of 210 million tons of water and 47,000 tons of pesticides” and a reduction of 25.72 million metric tons of carbon emissions.”
In addition to statistics on agricultural drone use, the report includes a look at global policy trends, a summary of best practices from around the world, and a roundup of technological advances. Readers will also find a number of agricultural drone testing examples and case studies.
