This week, counter-drone technology solutions company DroneShield announced a new partnership with Robin Radar Systems, which they say will “[strengthen] advanced radar technology to DroneShield’s growing sensor economy.”  The partnership will give operators more flexibility in how they architect layered counter-UAS deployments across defense, critical infrastructure, and public safety environments.

Robin Radar Systems is known for its IRIS 3D radar, a 360-degree system engineered to detect, track, and classify small airborne objects, including drones, across complex operational conditions. Its integration into DroneShield's platform extends the radar options available to customers designing multi-sensor airspace security solutions.

DroneShield has built its counter-UAS approach around an open, ecosystem-led model, investing in a scalable sensor marketplace rather than a closed, proprietary hardware stack. The strategy, the company says, allows operators to select sensing technologies suited to their specific mission environment, threat profile, and operational constraints. Robin Radar's addition to that marketplace reflects continued emphasis on radar-based detection as a core component of layered CUAS architecture.

At the heart of the ecosystem is DroneSentry-C2, powered by DroneShield's SensorFusionAI. The platform ingests inputs from multiple sensor types and combines them into a unified operational picture designed to reduce ambiguity and support faster, more confident decision-making.

"Operators need systems that adapt to their mission, not the other way around," said Angus Bean, DroneShield's Chief Product Officer. "By partnering with Robin Radar Systems and expanding our sensor marketplace, we give customers more freedom to design their airspace security architecture, while SensorFusionAI ensures that all sensor inputs are fused into insights that support decisive action."

Marcel Verdonk, Robin Radar's Chief Commercial Officer, framed the partnership in terms of integration-first design: "At Robin, we see ourselves as a new generation radar company — fast, adaptive, and built for integration. Our technology is designed to deliver seamless performance within broader security architectures. We're pleased to be partnering with DroneShield to combine our market-leading IRIS 3D radar with their CUAS platform, enabling smarter, layered airspace protection worldwide."
