Drone Industry Insights (DII), an independent research and intelligence provider for the global drone market, has opened the 9th edition of its Global Drone Survey. The survey is among the largest annual data-collection efforts in the unmanned aerial systems industry and is available in eight languages.

The launch follows last week's release of the Drone Market Map 2026, which catalogued 1,413 companies across 70 countries. The survey invites participants across the full drone market ecosystem to contribute their perspective on the state of the industry, from business sentiment and revenue trends to technology adoption, regulatory challenges, and investment outlook.

The survey is open through July 31, 2026. Results will be published in DII's annual State of Drones white paper, available free of charge in Q3 2026.

Eligible participants include hardware manufacturers, software and platform developers, drone service providers and operators, training and systems integration firms, media outlets, industry associations, regulatory bodies, government agencies, and academic researchers.

The survey takes between 8 and 15 minutes to complete. Those who finish the full survey will receive an early copy of the State of Drones 2026 report, released four weeks ahead of the public launch, as well as early access to ASTRA, DII's new drone industry intelligence platform set to launch publicly later this month. Participants are also entered for a chance to win one of five $100 gift vouchers.

"The Global Drone Survey is one of the most valuable things we provide for the industry — not because of what we publish, but because of what it tells you," said Kay Wackwitz, CEO of DII. "Eight years in, the data has become a reference point that decision-makers, investors, and policymakers around the world rely on. This year, we're pairing the survey with ASTRA — because the industry doesn't just need a snapshot once a year. It needs living intelligence, every day."

The survey is free and open to all participants in the global drone market. It is available at droneii.com.
