Drone America, Inc. and SpecTIR, LLC have announced that they have entered into “a strategic agreement focused on expanding high-performance aerial imaging capabilities for commercial and government applications.” The two Nevada-based firms said that they “will jointly pursue opportunities in the U.S. and select international markets where sophisticated airborne data acquisition is essential, ranging from mineral and oil/gas exploration to environmental monitoring and disaster response to infrastructure assessment and national security operations.”
A statement from Drone America said the agreement “marks the first step in a long-term collaboration aimed at integrating SpecTIR’s world-class sensor technology with Drone America’s flight-proven UAS platforms.” Specifically, SpecTIR will contribute “hyperspectral sensors, as well as data collection, processing, and analytics capabilities,” while Drone America “will lead airframe engineering, sensor integration, FAA-compliant flight testing, and operational demonstrations for prospective clients.” Moreover, both companies will “actively share market insights and collaborate on business development efforts where their combined technologies can deliver measurable, mission-critical value.”
Addressing the announcement, Mike Richards, President & CEO of Drone America, said, “By aligning our capabilities with SpecTIR, we’re accelerating the path to mission-ready, multispectral UAS solutions that address some of the most complex challenges in industry and government.”
