Wing and Walmart announced that they have launched drone delivery services in the Metro Atlanta area.
The delivery services, which began on December 3, are available from six Walmart stores across the region.
According to a statement from Wing, Walmart products eligible for drone delivery include “grocery items, last-minute gifts, household goods and over-the-counter medicine.” Customers can order drone delivery services through the Wing app. Delivery flight times average five minutes or less.
In its statement, Wing said that the Metro Atlanta launch is “an important milestone, representing the first new major metro in Wing’s historic drone delivery expansion with Walmart.” This expansion will include five new metros and serve 100 additional Walmart stores across the U.S. by 2026.
