Nina Shack is an Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Operator at AeroVelocity, where she brings precision and innovation to the skies. A 2024 graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, she is passionate about advancing representation in the drone and aviation industry. She serves on the advisory board for Black Girl Drone World, where she helps shape initiatives that support and empower Black women in aviation. She was also a proud recipient of the CUAV Path to Leadership event scholarship, recognizing her leadership potential and dedication to the field.
Greg has been an aviation professional since the early 2000s. He currently holds the following FAA certificates: Certified Flight Instructor, Commercial Pilot (for single and multi-engine), and UAS Remote Pilot. He has worked for two of the biggest aeronautical universities in the country (managing flight training programs of up to 500 students and 50 aircraft) and in teaching roles as assistant professor and program chair. He now concentrates on educating the next generation of manned and unmanned pilots by creating online courses. Pilot Institute has trained over 100,000 Remote Pilots to date and over 340,000 pilots on manned and unmanned topics.
Greg holds a Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Science and a Master’s Degree in Aviation Human Factors, both from the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, FL.
Sam Scully is a seasoned business development expert specializing in drone technology for the construction industry. With over a decade of experience, she has successfully integrated drones into numerous construction projects, enhancing safety, efficiency, and innovation. As Managing Director of Sam Scully Staffing, Sam is passionate about driving industry advancements through technology and fostering a diverse workforce. She is a sought-after speaker and thought leader on drone integration and safety.
Jared Janacek founded Texas Drone Company in 2017, a drone service provider focused on the mining, construction, and survey industries. He has been teaching drone mapping across Texas through his involvement with the Texas Drone Workshop for 6+ years. As a leading drone service provider, his company focuses primarily on mapping including photogrammetry and LiDAR. Flying 200+ mapping sites monthly, Texas Drone has developed streamlined flight and data processing workflows that focus on accuracy and repeatability. Jared is also a member of the UAV ASPRS and the Texas Society of Professional Surveyors.
For over six years Jared has worked to develop and advance the industry in various ways through involvement in educational and trade groups. He has served as an industry ambassador to a variety of trade organizations to help educate industry professionals about the benefits of drones and their integration.
Erin Sewall is the Content Specialst for Commercial UAV News and Expo. Prior to joining Diversified Communications, Erin contributed to news sources for a major outdoor retail company. Erin graduated from the University of Maine with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, horseback riding, and reading. She is a Maine native, and currently resides in Portland, Maine.
